Hebrew And Religious School
We meet on Thursday afternoons and Sunday mornings.
Thursdays are for Grades 3-7 and are focused on Hebrew.
Sundays begin with Hebrew at 9:30 for Grades 3-7, and continue from 10:30-12:00 for everyone (Grades K-7).
Once monthly, we have a Family Education Program at 10:30.
Grades K-5 students and parents have a values and art program.
Grades 6-7 students and parents have a special pre-Bar/Bat Mitzvah program with the Rabbi called Minyanaires.
Also, once monthly, we have a teen education program called Teen Torah Study with the Rabbi.
A pre-school program, operated by the Jewish Community Center Nursery School of State College, Inc. meets in the synagogue Mondays through Fridays.
Information can be found at its website.
Our weekly Torah Luncheons are back. This year, we'll start by looking at Freedom of Religion texts from American History. Then, we'll look at a survey of Reform Rabbinic Responsa--in which modern Rabbis work to apply traditional Jewish principles to modern Jewish challenges.
Torah Luncheons will be held on Thursdays at 12:00 Noon.
Here are our Fall dates:
September 7th, 14th, and 28th.
October 12th, 19th, and 26th
November 2nd, 9th, and 30th
December 7th and 14th
The Rabbi also teaches tutorials for Gerut (conversion to Judaism). Please contact Rabbi Ostrich if you are interested.
