Rabbi David E. Ostrich
Originally from Lafayette, Louisiana, Rabbi David E. Ostrich received his education at Northwestern University and Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. During his thirty-six years in the rabbinate, he has specialized in small congregations, serving in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Savannah, Georgia, Pensacola, Florida, and now in State College. He brings to our congregation a wealth of experience in spiritual development, teaching, programming, youth work, and social justice. Rabbi Ostrich is the editor/compiler of two of our congregation's prayer books, Siddur B'rit Shalom and Machzor Ki Anitani, and our congregational Haggadah. He is also a Lecturer in Jewish Studies at Penn State University and a frequent instructor for OLLI (the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute of Penn State.

Mike Radis, Ed.D.
Mike Radis and his family have been long time members of Congregation Brit Shalom and both of his children attended the religious school from first grade through confirmation. He has served in many positions on the Board of Directors, including Chair of Education and President.
I have spent over 40 years in education. After graduating from Penn State I taught at the elementary level for five years until, after earning my doctorate, I taught at the college level- with undergraduates at Mayville State College (North Dakota), Penn State- Altoona, Penn State- University Park, and then with graduate students at Howard University( (Washington, DC) as director of the Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP) program and then back again at Penn State as Associate Director, Graduate Education in the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences. I retired In January 2014 and am now substitute teaching in the State College Area School District and enjoying spending time in Washington, DC with my grandchildren.
