Donations and Payments

Congregation Brit Shalom welcomes and appreciates your charitable contributions! By giving to one of our gift funds and/or endowments, you not only fulfill the mitzvah of Tzedakah, but you will also help us maintain a full-time Rabbi and support our synagogue community and its spiritual, educational, and cultural programs and activities.

Your donation may be in memory, in honor, or in appreciation of someone, or to celebrate a special lifecycle moment such as a birthday, anniversary, graduation, or a Bar/Bat mitzvah.

Congregation Brit Shalom has a variety of funds to which you may direct your donation. Our General Fund supports all of the programs at CBS—more details about giving opportunities are below. Donations over $18.00 are recognized in the Scroll.

Brit Shalom Payments

  • Building Fund to underwrite major renovations and emergency repairs of our building.

  • Endowment Fund for the long-term health of the congregation, the Endowment fund provides for a yearly allocation to the operating budget.

  • General Fund for all undesignated gifts to Congregation Brit Shalom.

  • Prayer Book Fund for the repair and replacement of prayer books.

  • Programming and Membership Fund to assist in paying for programming events, speakers, and membership events.

  • Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund to be used by the Rabbi for books, donations, scholarships, etc.

  • Rodef Shalom Cemetery to support the maintenance of the historic Jewish cemetery in Bellefonte.

  • Social Action Fund to support those in need through charity, service, and Tikkun Olam.
